Q: What do I have to do?  Will this system be much trouble for me?

Q: What's the difference between remote backup and tapes?

A: Our offsite backup and restore service is much more reliable than most tape backups. A major risk of tape systems is that even when all indicators point to successful backups, the restores often fail.  Secondly, most companies using tape systems don't employ a secondary offsite fail-safe system.  Our system is completely automatic.  In fact, you can forget it's working every night.

Q: How are our offsite backups kept secure?

A: All files are encrypted using Blowfish, DES, or any of the six other encryption methods which is selected by the user with their own personal encrypted code.  This encryption key is only known by the client.  Blowfish encryption has never been broken by a hacker.  DES is used by the federal banking system.  Computer Care not only provides for offsite storage of your critical data but we also mirror, or maintain multiple copies of your encrypted data.  Additionally, we regularlymonitor your backup sessions to ensure they occur as scheduled.

Q: Why are offsite backups considered more beneficial?

A: The data is immediately stored offsite using an automated backup system.  Also, only an internet connection is needed.  This will completely eliminate the need for expensive backup equipment and media.  And, since the system is automated, manual labor is eliminated.

Q: What is encryption?

A: Encryption is basically a mathematical formula that scrambles a data file.  And the only way to unscramble it is with the encryption code.
